InstaRanker Application
In an effort to encourage a community of diverse characters and to offer others the chance to play a character with different IC background, training, and experience than Istan-trained apprentices, we accept a certain number of Insta Rankers per year. Instas should be significantly different from a character who has grown up and been trained at the Istan Healer Hall or should be otherwise unique from the majority of Healer characters. The Healercraft of Harper's Tale only allows Insta Senior Apprentices, Insta Journeymen, and Insta Senior Journeymen. We accept applications every promotion cycle (1 IC turn, 3 RL months), and will allow a maximum of two Senior Apprentice Instas and one Journeyman Insta -or- Senior Journeyman Insta each cycle. We reserve the right to not create any Instas if we feel that the Hall is well-balanced or if no applications meet our standards. Please note that all Instas are required to maintain an average of 4 hours activity for the first promotion cycle (3 RL months), or we reserve the right to remove your Insta status. All Insta Senior Apprentices should be at least seventeen turns of age, all Insta Journeymen should be at least twenty-five turns of age, and all Insta Senior Journeymen should be at least forty turns of age. Please note that Senior Journeymen are promoted after having served twenty turns as Journeymen. While we love having Fortian Healers, keep in mind that you can also be joining us from another hold, weyr or hall, having been posted there. You can have originally trained at either Fort or Ista. As a note: you may want to page a staff member or @send *hlsta before you put a lot of time into an application, for several reasons. We may be full up for the cycle on a particular rank, and you'd want to know that before you put the time into an application. We can also help you know what character concepts are already done at the Hall, what specialties we have a lot of, and generally help you find interesting ways to hook into the Hall. For example, Ista may very well have a handful of herbalists, but it's unlikely that they're going to have more than one or two mindhealers or post-mortem examiners. Chatting before hand can help build diversity. We'll certainly accept applications without input before-hand - it's simply that it may save you some work, or the pain of having to rewrite a character. 3. Tell us about your character's history. What has been important in their life? What have been the major events? Where have they done their healer studies, and how did they fare in them? Why are they now moving to Ista's Healer Hall? What is their specialty?
4. Tell us about your character's personality. Include any quirks, interests, dislikes, etc.
